Damaged Baggage

Baggage checked at check-in counters and at the last minute

We do not cover the following natural wear and tear/minor damages:

  • Broken wheels or legs
  • Loss of pulling straps
  • Cuts, scrapes, scratches, and small or minor dents
  • Damage caused by excessive baggage weight
  • Damage to retractable luggage handles
  • Damage to fragile or perishable items during transport
  • Unsuitable or poorly packaged items for transport
  • Damage caused by authority inspections such as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Federal Police, among others.

Lost baggage checked at check-in counters and at the last minute

We are not responsible for:

  • Cash
  • Photographic cameras
  • Software and computer equipment
  • Electronic devices including mobile phones, tablets, and games, among others
  • Fragile items
  • Jewelry
  • Medications
  • Business documents and paperwork
  • Works of art
  • Valuable items

The limits of liability are subject to the following applicable legal framework:

  • Up to 75 days of current minimum wages on domestic flights, according to Article 62 of the Civil Aviation Act
  • $20 USD per kilogram of checked baggage, capped at $640 USD on international flights and according to the Warsaw Convention, as a first option, and up to 1,131 daily regional minimum wages (SDR) according to the Montreal Convention, as a second option.
